It’s Friday night and it’s the perfect family activity. Kids can run around on the safest, most perfect groomed carpet possible. Dad doesn’t have to walk too much…just enough to keep the blood pressure down. Mom can be outside. After all is said and done, with Pitch N Putt, dinner, and possibly some ice cream, the night actually looks pretty good.
It’s Friday night at 12 o’clock. Not moving but not dead, it stares at me. I focus, snap, then re-focus and snap again. Suddenly, it buzzes off only to return to that glowing orb that endlessly calls. Three more frames and I pull the cord. The whistling fan takes over as the light dims. Buzzing off, I can’t help but think of the fly smiling, enjoying having its photo taken.
